Picadillo is a simple dish with ground meat, tomato, carrot and potato as its basic ingredients. It’s the perfect weekender meal because you can get creative and throw in other leftover vegetables that have been sitting in your fridge.

Ingredients

  • 250g WTH Giniling (1 pack)
  • 1 yellow onion chopped
  • 1 garlic minced
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 potato
  • 1/2 cup tomato paste
  • 1 bowl of water
  • 2 bay leaf
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cups chopped fresh parsley or 3 teaspoons dried

Procedure

In a frying pan over medium high heat, heat some oil. Put in the garlic and saute till slightly browned before adding the onion and bay leaf.

Add the tomato paste and water into the pan. Stir until the tomato paste is mixed well with the water. Reduce heat and let it simmer.

Put in the WTH Giniling, carrot and potato. Add water as necessary. Cook until vegetables are tender.

Add salt and pepper to taste.

Served best with rice.
