WHAT YOU WILL NEED
-
1 pack WTH Giniling
-
1 yellow onion chopped
-
4 garlic cloves minced or pressed
-
1 small can diced tomatoes
-
1 small can tomato sauce
-
4 tablespoons tomato paste
-
2 cups vegetable broth (water will do if no vegetable broth is available)
-
2 whole cloves
-
1 bay leaf
-
4 teaspoons sugar
-
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley or 4 teaspoons dried
-
1 full sprig of basil
-
1 teaspoon dried oregano
-
1 dried chilli (optional)
-
3 tablespoon vegan butter (or non vegan butters)
-
Salt and Pepper to taste
LET’S COOK!
-
In a large heavy bottomed pot over medium high heat, add the 2 tablespoons of butter and the chopped onion and saute till slightly browned before adding the garlic. Saute for about 2 minutes. This would also be the right time to add the dried chilli if you would like a spicier sauce.
-
Add the rest of the ingredients (except the spaghetti noodles, WTH Giniling, and Parmesan), stir, and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to simmer, stir and cover with a lid, and cook for at least 1 hour on medium low heat, stirring occasionally.
-
Add WTH Giniling minutes before switching off the heat. Remove basil.
-
Cook the spaghetti according to the package directions in generously salted water. Drain and mix into the spaghetti sauce.
-
Serve with your choice of cheese and chopped fresh parsley if desired.
NOTES
Garnish suggestions: Chopped fresh basil leaves.
