  • Prep Time: 25 mins

  • Cooking Time: 1 hour

  • Total Time: 1 hour 25 mins

  • Cuisine: Italian

  • Serving size: 4-5 servings

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
  • 1 pack WTH Giniling

  • 1 yellow onion chopped

  • 4 garlic cloves minced or pressed

  • 1 small can diced tomatoes

  • 1 small can tomato sauce

  •  4 tablespoons tomato paste

  • 2 cups vegetable broth (water will do if no vegetable broth is available)

  • 2 whole cloves

  • 1 bay leaf

  • 4 teaspoons sugar

  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley or 4 teaspoons dried

  • 1 full sprig of basil

  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

  • 1 dried chilli (optional)

  • 3 tablespoon vegan butter (or non vegan butters)

  • Salt and Pepper to taste

LET’S COOK!
  • In a large heavy bottomed pot over medium high heat, add the 2 tablespoons of butter and the chopped onion and saute till slightly browned before adding the garlic. Saute for about 2 minutes. This would also be the right time to add the dried chilli if you would like a spicier sauce.

  • Add the rest of the ingredients (except the spaghetti noodles, WTH Giniling, and Parmesan), stir, and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to simmer, stir and cover with a lid, and cook for at least 1 hour on medium low heat, stirring occasionally.

  • Add WTH Giniling minutes before switching off the heat. Remove basil.

  • Cook the spaghetti according to the package directions in generously salted water. Drain and mix into the spaghetti sauce.

  • Serve with your choice of cheese and chopped fresh parsley if desired.

NOTES

Garnish suggestions: Chopped fresh basil leaves.
