How to Celebrate Philippine Independence Day despite the Pandemic

Philippine Independence Day is annually celebrated on June 12. In the year 1898, the Philippines declared independence from Spain and became a free country.

Usually, Filipinos celebrate this day by being with their family and friends, singing or playing together.

We might not be as free now as we were before the pandemic, but here are a few things that we can do indoors to celebrate Independence Day with our families.

  1. Celebrate freedom virtually

You can still spend time with our family and friends even if they are at the other end of the screen. You can organize virtual Filipino games and still eat together.

  1. Spend time with your furry friends

We have our pets to celebrate with us too! Preparing a special meal for them or dressing them up according to the occasion.

  1. Flex your plant-based specialty dish

Of course, we can’t forget to prepare a special and healthy meal for our loved ones to commemorate the occasion. We can flex out our delicious plant-based recipes and have our family and friends try them out.
